The Cubs Mug (aka Cubby) is the only inanimate object that has appeared in every season of the critically acclaimed television series, 24.

"Cubby" belongs to character, Tony Almeida.

Appearances

Throughout Day's 1-3, while Tony is working at CTU, the mug can be seen on Tony's desk in various scenes.

At the start of Day 4, Tony is no longer working at CTU. However, when Jack became stuck in a situation where he needed the help of the "only person he could trust", he calls Tony, who takes him back to his house. It is here, where Tony sits down in front of the TV and pours himself some beer...in the Cubs mug.

The mug makes another appearance during the first episode of Day 5. As Tony tries to dissuade Michelle from returning to CTU in the kitchen of their house, Tony is seen holding the mug.

Behind the Scenes

Carlos Bernard reveals in an interview on "24 Inside" that while they were filming the scene in which CTU is bombed, during Season 2, they decided that the mug would be among the items destroyed in the explosion. Bernard tossed the mug in the air, but instead of hitting the ground and smashing on impact, the mug became caught in some wires and survived. Since then, the mug has continued to make appearances on the show.

Fan Following

Once fans began to notice the mug's continual appearances, it developed quite a large fanbase. Soon, fans began calling it by the name of "Cubby".
