Culture Killers’ self titled ep released in October of 2007 under independent record label, Delvue Records.
==History
Culture Killers’ first show was a kick-off like no other.
It was played and taped in front of a
live studio audience on
Playboy TV’s, “
Night Calls” hosting
Jesse Jane.
The show was broadcast to over 800,000 viewers worldwide and resulted in the producer of the show naming Culture Killers as “The Band of The Year” alongside bands such as
Buckcherry.
Adding to their list of accomplishments, the November 2007 issue of Music Connection Magazine named Culture Killers as one of “LA’s Hottest Unsigned Artist”.
The band’s self titled ep was released in October of 2007 under independent record label, Delvue Records, owned by Glenn Schusterman.
Their songs have been recorded by respected artists,
Scott Reeder (of the
Kyuss fame), Bruce Witkin (former
Adam Ant bassist), and Corey Mooney.
Rob Beaton, whose credits include
Santana,
Todd Rundgren,
Eddie Van Halen,
Buckethead among others, mixed and mastered Culture Killers' ep and is currently working on the band’s full-length album.
Culture Killers have played legendary
Hollywood venues such as The Cat Club,
The Knitting Factory,
The Roxy Theatre, The Key Club, The El Rey,
B.B.
King's in
Universal City, and the
Viper Room.
They have also opened for bands such as,
IAMX, (the solo musical project for
Chris Corner formerly of the
Sneaker Pimps),
Metal Skool,
The Exies and
Hurt.
In March of 2006, Culture Killer's (as Moaning Lisa) , played the coveted
South by Southwest (SXSW) in,
Austin, Texas.
Their trip to SXSW was chronicled and featured in adventure music
documentary, “The Curse of The Blessed, as told by a muse” an independent film featuring 12 bands and their maddening journeys to one the largest
music festivals in the United States.
George, Johnny G, and John Chambers (former Moaning Lisa bassist) played as a threesome for the movie’s release in Mankato, Minnesota in November of 2007.
Successes
Culture Killers have suffered through the extreme hardship of being a
Hollywood based rock band such as having to
pay to play, deal with shadey
promoters and empty promises.
