A parallel to ballbusting, cuntbusting is a masochistic paraphiliac activity in which a female is struck in the groin. This may involve kicking, punching, clawing and squeezing, using the knees, or any other object to inflict pain upon the sensitive Bartholin's Glands within the female's vulva or upon the clitoris itself. This may be performed on a woman by a male or female, though most often it is done by a woman.

Cuntbusting fans may find gratification through "busts" that are seen in sporting events, particularly martial arts and soccer, in comedic media, and even in video games. A certain cultural stigma, sexism, or ignorance makes groin strikes to a woman less frequent than those to a male in these mediums, although the move remains just as effective in life. An example of this is Johnny Cage's groin punch manuever, which he refuses to perform on females until later installments of the Mortal Kombat series that feature an approximation of real martial arts. Material tailored specifically to the cuntbusting audience may consist of erotic wrestling, serial artwork, and pornography that closely resembles S&M. Though less common, cuntbusting material is sometimes associated with strikes to the breasts (titbusting) and ovaries.

A strike to the groin can be debilitating, and the vulnerable feelings it inspires can become a source of anxiety that might potentially seem unique and taboo to a woman.
