Dániel Tőzsér (born 12 May 1985 in Szolnok) is an international Hungarian footballer currently playing as a midfielder for Belgian side K.R.C. Genk.
Club career
Debrecen
Dániel Tőzsér started his caarer at Debrecen and was only 17 but only manage to have 1 cap for Debrecen.
Galatasaray
Dániel Tőzsér transferred to Galatasaray in 2003 and ended it in 2004, Tőzsér didn't managed to have any caps for the Turkish side.
Ferencváros
Tőzsér managed to have 54 caps and 3 goals, he scored lots of important goals for Feréncvaros. The teams manager, Bobby Davison, called Tőzsér the Hungarian Frank Lampard. He also had a successful career at Ferencváros.
AEK Athens
Tőzsér signed with AEK Athens in 2006. He managed to have 45 caps and 3 goals for his team. The ex-AEK manager Llorenç Serra Ferrer said he has talent and has a great future in front of him. Tőzsér weared the number 88. He is left-footed, very talented and able to play as central midfielder, defensive midfielder or on the left side. He scored his first goal against Ofi and it was a stunning shot. Tőzsér also played an important role in AEK's UEFA Champions League run and was voted man of the match against Anderlecht. Anderlecht was impressed by his performance and tried to sign him but AEK didn't want to let him go. He also gave the assist for the goal of Nikos Liberopoulos against Hearts.
Racing Genk
Dániel Tőzsér signed a 4 year deal on 5 June 2008. According to several Greek newspapers the Belgian club paid around € 1.500,000. In Genk, Dániel will play alongside fellow Hungarian, Balázs Tóth. He stated that he hopes to regain his place in the Hungarian national team by doing well at Genk. He's very ambitious and states that he wants to win the Belgian title with Genk. He wears the number 8 for Genk.
International career
Tőzsér made his international debut on the 14 of December 2005 against Mexico. He has managed to amount 15 caps and 1 goal for Hungary all the while impressing Hungarian coach Péter Várhidi. Tőzsér scored his first international goal against Malta during a Euro 2008 Qualifier, putting Hungary two goals in front with a stunning free kick.[1]
