== D.E.A.D ==
D.E.A.D (the disciples of
electric and acoustic decadence) are a four-piece rock band
from London, England. Made up of childhood friends Lee
Mooney (guitar / vox) John Georgiou
(guitar) Mark Laird (bass) and Tom
Jeffrey (drums).
The band first started performing live
in the spring of 2005 as a 3 piece (Lee John and Tom) under the
name Death Valley Driver which had to be
changed to D.E.A.D after the band found another band using the same
name. In October of that year they held there first annual
Halloween show, which the band promoted themselves and booked
fellow London bands Damn Sly and
Ego on the show as well. The Halloween
show was also the first time D.E.A.D played as a four piece, with
Jason Porras filling in on bass.
In November 2005 the band moved
to Willesden NW10 where they purchased the necessary equipment to
produce there first EP Four Fingers of Rye. By
June 2006 Mark Laird became the bands full time bassist replacing
Jason Porras.
By September 06 the EP was ready and 2000 copies
were made and given away for free to members of the bands myspace
site and also at gigs. The EP was given 7/10 in the January 07
issue of Metal Hammer. The band however have no plans to re-release
the EP.
In May 2006 the band moved to a bigger house with its
own practice area in West London and are currently preparing to
record and release there first full length album 'Money
for Old Rope' in time for this years Halloween show.
The album will be released on threw the indipendent label 'Teratorn
Records'.
