He was drafted in the 6th round of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, 190th overall, by the Blues. After being scoreless in his first 24 NHL games, King scored his first career goal on April 4, 2007, for the Blues in a game against the Phoenix Coyotes. He scored on Coyotes goalie Curtis Joseph.[4] King played the rest of 2006–07 for the Peoria Rivermen.
