DJ collective and soundsystem formed in 1989 and based in Nottingham. Put on free parties around the country in 1989-1990 including some at Pepperbox Hill near Bournemouth in conjunction with that town's North & South Soundsystem as well as promoting their long-running club night Bounce at Nottingham's Venus. At the Glastonbury festival 1990 DiY to hooked up with the so called New Age travellers and from this meeting of minds and resources a new scene evolved around travelling sound systems at illegal free festivals. Spiral Tribe & Circus Warp swiftly followed suite. As these were free festivals the recently formed police 'pay party unit' had no powers. The scene peaked with the infamous event at Castlemorton in the Malvern Hills in May 1992.
