DJ Pasha (aka Dr. Azeem Pasha) is a House DJ from Chicago, IL. He is noted for his style of mashup remixes and remixes of Indie Rock and Alternative tracks [1] [2]

DJ Pasha performed at Lollaplooza 2009 on the Perry's Stage for DJ's on August 7, 2009, opening the DJ stage for the festival

On a day where thunderstorms greeted the anxious concertgoers on the Friday of Lollapalooza 2009, the Perry's stage performance was nearly cancelled due to the rain and lack of cover over Perry's stage. With the help of the crew chief for the Perry's stage a blue tent was propped over the DJ table and DJ Pasha began to drop bass and beats upon the music thirsty patrons of Lollapalooza. Like the Pied Piper of House music DJ Pasha within a couple minutes turned the empty Perry's stage into a full scale dance party. The crowd roared with hundreds of fans and dancers, embracing the rain and music, infectiously invigorated for a weekend full of musical wonder and amazement.

Perry's – Day 1 of Lollapalooza-- A two-tiered wedding cake of black steel lattice strewn with lights and lasers acted as a crown for DJ Pasha, the winner of Lollapalooza's Last Band Standing Remix 2009 competition as he dropped bass on top of bass on top of pop rock classics. A style of mash-ups and gaudy electro, his music got overeager Bud Light-toting festival goers to bounce along with his raised arms and pumping fists. He spun and whipped the crowd into a tizzy with aplomb. Michael Jackson backed into "Sabotage" by the absent Beastie Boys and Notorious B.I.G. as the icing on a sonic, thumping cake.

DJ Pasha was a Grand Prize Winner of the 2009 Lollaplooza Last Band Standing Remix Competition. [4] This was a three round competition where almost 150 artists and DJ's initially competed for 2 spots to play at Lollapalooza. In the first Round of the competition DJ Pasha submitted a mashup remix combining two Lollapalooza headiners : Depeche Mode & Beastie Boys ""Lolla Space Taxi to Neptune" [5] With this entry, DJ Pasha through a combination of online voting and judging by a panel of industry judges advanced into the second round being ranked in the top 10 DJ's in the Chicago division of the competition. A total of 50 DJ's (25 in a Chicago Division and 25 in a World Division) were selected to compete in Round 2. In the second round of competition all the semifinalists were given a selection of 4 songs by Lollapalooza artists to remix. In this segment of the competition DJ Pasha chose to remix a track "Destroy" by Chicago electronic artist Money Penny (formerly known as Roctapussy). [6] With online voting by online listeners, DJ Pasha secured the #1 position for the semifinals. For the third and final round of the competition there was a battle of the DJ's performed at the famed Double Door in Chicago. The four finalists were DJ Pasha, Punky Fresh, Bobby Labeat, and Neiliyo. After a tough competition 2 grand Prize Winners were chosen DJ Pasha & Punky Fresh, both Chicago artists. [7]
