Biography

Andrew John Jackson was born July 27th, 1980 in Vienna, Virginia, a suburb of Washington D.C. He attended Madison High School and graduated in 1998 at age 17.

Andrew began rapping in 1998 but never wrote or created his own original music until 2002. At this time, he released his first full-length song entitled "Walk Backwards" which featured on the Hell Rydaz mixtape released by the infamous South Carolina hip-hop producer 40oz. When DZK began winning rap battles on the newly popular online tournament circuit, fans began to take notice. Largely undefeated and constantly releasing new free music on his SoundClick website, his fanbase exploded into one of the largest underground musical cult followings of the internet to date. Within four years, he had recorded over two hundred songs and reached over six million mp3 plays on SoundClick alone. In 2003, he was recruited by Virgin Records assistant A&R and producer, Tymex, to join a group called The Gooniez (along with underground rappers Warbux & Odd Job). This group later disbanded after Tymex was murdered following the act's first performance in nearby Washington D.C.

DZK's music is featured on numerous websites (including YTMND), independent film projects & mixtapes. One of his original beats was featured in a Volkswagen ad campaign for the VW GX3, a three-wheeled concept car/motorcycle hybrid. He has recorded with such artists as Gravity, ill Chris, Spice 1, K-Nice, Ricky Ruckus, Hard Target, Point Game, Dynamite MC, Verbatim, Richie Griffin, Effect and Ivory Boshae. He has been featured in the magazines Murder Dog and Future Music.

Red Giants is his side project/group with fellow local Virginia rapper F.a.T.
