Daedalian
Daedalian(Day-Dale-Yun) are a 3-piece heavy-rock band laden with melody and chorus possessing the filth of stoner grunge and the intellect of popular music, the self-destructiveness of punk and the fist of metal - a calculated harmonious splatter of grunge.
Daedalian deliver honest and relevant messages of angst, politics, frustration and alienation through soaring vocal melodies and despairing growls; manifestos of the month.
About ==
Originally hailing from Kirkintilloch, near Glasgow, they were spurned from the boredom and apathy of Scottish Suburbia (make no mistake this is not an elevated social palette).
They were formed in 2001 by three impressionable teenagers who never had illusions of grandeur but held a tight grasp of how bleak and monotonous life can be - a vision which outweighed their talents enormously.
Arguably, one of the first rock bands to emerge from Kirkintilloch in the new Millenium their early gigs were self-organised and promoted affairs in places like Kirkintilloch Town Hall (a surprisingly fantastic venue used by rock bands dating back to the 50's) and local youth clubs.
This allowed them to showcase their songs to an eager crowd, and quickly a small fanbase started to grow.
As with most bands Daedalian started off loosely writing punk songs with grunge undertones and it was in fact this under current of filth and melody which has shone through.
As time and discipline drew out a conscious effort was made to tighten the flaws and fill the holes.
This made for line up changes yet the direction of the band has never been set in stone, and this is still true today.
The sole objective has always been to write good catchy songs which people can latch onto, and be vehemently opposed to changing styles to fit a trend.

Favourite Venues
<blockquote> "We've played the Carling Academy in front of 1200 people, and we've played BarCode in Perth to 15.
We've turned up to play through 16K rigs, and I've sang through a bass amp.
We've experienced numbing dissapointment and unbridled joy.
We have been hated and loved since our inception.
However, my favourite gig has to be Dr Drakes in Aberdeen around the summer of 2004.
Great people, great bands and an incredibley drunken night huddled outside the train station with all our gear."
