Damon Wilder Carr, (B: 1970-) is an Author, Entrepreneur, Teacher, Speaker, Inventor (with at least two patents held and one pending, including a patent in the European Union), and is considered one of the world's most accomplished and innovative contributors in the Financial Services Industry using technological advancements in biometrics, Enterprise Software Architecture, and Software Development and Process Innovation. Mr. Carr has fundamentally reinvented aspects in Financial Services related to Financial Advice, Asset Management and Optimal Portfolio Construction (to name a few) for some of the world's largest 'household name' corporations. He has presented at some of the most globally respected conferences and is in constant demand globally as a speaker.

Currently Mr. Carr is the Microsoft .NET Special Interest Group Leader for the New York Software Industry Association [1651] as well as the leader of the world's largest '[C Sharp programming language]] Design Patterns' Users Group.

He also serves as the CEO of the 'Association for the Advancement of Software Engineering in Microsoft .NET' a non-profit association dedicated to educating and moving the software development industry forward through education, certification and training of software engineers.

Mr. Carr serves today (2005) as the Chief executive officer and Lead Technologist of agilefactor, a New York Corporation. He is also the co-author of the soon to be released book on Agile software development innovations he and his co-author (Brian Button) have invented. Damon Carr is a Patent Holder on 'A Software Platform for Wealth Management' and has a Patent-Pending for the 'Core Agility Ratio', a metric for the Management of Agile Software Team Projects and Object-oriented software quality.

Previously Mr. Carr was the Chief technical officer and co-founder of Monetaire, where he architected and executed a software product that was named one of only three 'leaders' (the highest classification) by Forrester Research for the Financial Services Industry in Europe. In 2003 Mr. Carr was a featured presenter at the Microsoft Financial Services Developers Conference.

Mr. Carr is a professional member of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM). He has lectured at Columbia University on Microsoft .NET at the Master's Level in Computer Science. His firm agilefactor is a Microsoft Certified Partner and Member of the Visual Studio Integration Partner Program.

In addition, Mr. Carr is the lead developer and Architect of the DotNet2UML utility, a widely used software tool for converting Microsoft .NET Assemblies into XMI (the Object Management Group's XML based interchange format for the Unified Modeling Language. In addition, Mr. Carr’s firm agilefactor is a leading Value Added Reseller for many innovative software products from companies such as Sparx Systems in Australia, JetBRAINS (headquartered in Czechoslovakia), Anticipating Minds, VersionOne (a Jolt Award Winner in 2004 for their innovative Agile process management product) and a few select others.

Mr. Carr received his Bachelors of Science degree in Business and Management Information Systems in 1993 from California State University, Sacramento, the very college his Grandfather (Dr. Norman J. Hunt) taught at for over twenty years. He later went on to conduct Master's Level study at Columbia University in Manhattan.

Mr. Carr started programming when he was 12 in 1982 on the Atari 800, which he mastered and actually sold some of his software creations (mostly games), his first entrepreneurial venture.

From the years 1976-1984 Mr. Carr became a virtuoso on the Trombone through the efforts of his mentor, and legal guardian, Dr. Norman J. Hunt. Dr. Norman J. Hunt was a globally know composer, conductor, arranger, and performer in the big band era. Dr. Hunt later was the head of the California State University, Sacramento's Music Department.

Damon is also has a keen interest in evolutionary psychology, philosophy (especially existentialism), and enjoying living in New York City in the Tribeca Region. He was an eye witness (with millions of others) of the September 11, 2001 attacks, actually helping out in any way he could all night on the day of the attack, and moving down to the actual disaster site.

Mr. Carr grew up in Fair Oaks, California where he became an avid snowboarder, skateboarder, and played in a number of musical bands while he was a teenager.
