Dan Your Studios Inc. is a privately held corporation largely known for promoting Northwestern
Washington.
The organization publishes several travel and
tourism magazine as well as
maps plus owns several travel and tourism
organizations Your Inc also provides
travel information via the internet and is one of the few organization providing travel info to cell phones.
History
Establishment
Dan Youra Studios Inc began in
1980 as a small publishing company called “Still News Publishing” Founded by Dan Youra and Pat Thompson.
The two long time partners decided to team together and create their own publishing firm after they had initially published a successful series of educational books called the “Alcohol Distillers Manual” series.
The next year in
1981 they published their first travel publication called “Traveling Around
Mount St. Helens.” This was the first publication published for travelers who wished to navigate the St. Helens region after Mt.
St. Helens erupted in 1980.
Youra Studios also published two other notable books in 1981 ‘’I love Hot Dogs’’ with 120 hot dog recipes for the true hot dog conesuir and “Oswald the Owl” and popular children’s book.
With the popularity Still News publication Traveling around Mt.
St. Helens the small publisher began to be recognized in the travel and tourism industry as a result
1984 they changed their name and became “
Olympic Publishing” with the kick off of there first publication under the new banner the
Olympic Magazine was born.
The publication was an instant smash that untimatley lead the organization wining the contract for the Washington State Visitor Guide
Expo 86 in
Vancouver Canada.
That same year Olympic magazine was changed to the
Olympic Peninsula Guide and received back to back “Georgie Awards” in both 1988 and 1989 for Washington’s Best Visitor Guide in the
private sector.
1989 also earmarked the addition of yet another Dan Youra Studios travel publication called the
Ferry Travel Guide.
This publication was a long awaited alternative to bland ferry schedule provided bye the state.
The Ferry travel Guide was the first publication in the Northwest to provide all the ferry schedules both public and private for Washington and Canada’s Northwestern waterways.
In 1995 Youra Studios also went on to provide world wide ferry schedule on the internet and in 2005 on the mobile web.
In 1984 the Olympic Peninsula Travel association hired Youra Studiso to publish their prestigious
Olympic Peninsula Directory and Map a publication that had been printed since 1933.
After several years of involvment with the organization in 2005 Youra Inc would ultimately purchase the association and which is now one of Your Inc.’s Assets.
