The 2009 & 2010 releases of Dance Dance Revolution are cross-platform music video games by Konami. Although originally all versions were announced under the working title of just Dance Dance Revolution at E3, the PlayStation 2 and Wii versions were re-branded as sequels to the most recent DDR titles for their respective platforms, Dance Dance Revolution X2 and Dance Dance Revolution Hottest Party 3 respectively.

In addition to core gameplay, Hottest Party 3 will add support for the Wii Balance Board peripheral.[2][3] The balance board mode was demonstrated at the press conference by Naoki Maeda, in-house composer for the series.[4]
The game will also feature modes for inexperienced players, the "DDR School" mode will allow players to learn the game, and the "Relax" mode will allow for gameplay that is described as "extremely easy."[5] For more experienced players, the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions will feature a new 8-panel mode known as "Octo-Move," which will add 4 diagonal directions to the existing configuration, resulting in eight directions rather than the traditional four.[5][2]
