Who Are They

Dancin 4 Jesus is a non-prophet Christian dance group who specializes in traveling and spreading the love of Christ through their talents of dance.

Dancin 4 Jesus (D4J) began in the early fall of 2006, as an expressive praise class designed to fill a few weeks of time at a church. Over time the class began to grow and expand (which it still continues to do). The class is made up of a group of kids and teachers, all who live and dance for God.

The Director

Melanie Shindledecker is a mother of three, who has a background in performance management; she has worked with lead several different types of performance teams from dance, to cheerleading and beyond. Melanie is a devoted mother and teacher who loves working with the team, and is devoted to helping it succeed.

Media Director/Event Coordinator

Joseph Hesketh is a young person who loves working with the team and devoting his time to it. Joseph has a three-year background with dance, as well as his certification to work with children. Joseph is in charge of the team’s media (website, e-mail, contacting and setting up performances). He loves his work and loves everyone on the team.

The Choreographers Backgrounds

Janeth has an extensive background in dance performing; Janeth has 15yrs professional dance experience to base her teaching off of. She toured for several years with a Mexican dance team, which performed shows such as Cats. She has instructed dance for more than two years. She has choreographed and taught more than 10songs in that time frame. Janeth is a very devoted person who loves teaching and dancing. <P>

Kristin Cocco has a ten-year background of dance and performance. She has performed with several different teams. She danced and performed with her high school for four years, performed with a masquerade group for a year and a half, and performed with a group called Top Hats for several years as well. Like Janeth she is devoted and loves teaching and dancing.

Their Goal

D4J originated in the small town of Apollo, PA, where they have their main studio. D4J has performed at several different events, and are continuing to perform and travel. It is their goal to grow and continue to travel to spread the love of God to as many people as they can.

Their Mission Statement

Dancin 4 Jesus’ is a Mission Oriented non-profit dance organization. Our goal is to disciple to the next generations, and prepare them to share the love of God and the gospel through their God given talents. We are equipping these young people with the spiritual and emotional capabilities to stand up for and share the truth about their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Through working with these young people, we are equipping them to minister in their own back yards, and express their love for God, through their talents of dance, to their peers and their communities.
