Born in Brooklyn, New York in May of 1989, Daniel Kingsley has
created quite a name for himself.
He graduated from St. Vincent
Ferrer grammar school in Canarsie, Brooklyn in June of 2003. In
September of 2003, he entered Cathedral Preparatory Seminary in
Elmhurst where he made a big name for himself, specifically among
the school's athletes whom he referred to as the "jocks". While at
Cathedral Preparatory Seminary, Daniel served in many prestigious
positions, most notably as Editor-in-Chief of the school's
newspaper, The Current. For two years, Mr. Kingsley held
this position, and created a new style of journalism.
Mr.
Kingsley promptly appointed James Landi as Co-Editor, however Mr.
Landi resigned and took the position of Layout Editor. In great
need of organization, committment and leadership, Mr. Kingsley
asked Matthew Zinser, the Chief Sports Writer for the newspaper to
take on a bigger role as Managing Editor. Due to Mr. Zinser's
fantastic leadership capabilities, the newspaper became as big as
it ever was in the 35 plus years it was being publsihed. Mr.
Kingsley was looked at as a stong leader and decided that it was
very important to expand in the Sports section of the paper.
Of
course for Mr. Kingsley, this was also of personal taste that the
sports section would be greatly expanded. Kingsley is a truly big
sports fan, in particular of basketball (especially Cathedral's
Varsity Basketball team). He more than doubled the sports section
over his two years as Editor. In addition to this, he befriended
every athlete in the school and began looking to them for advice
not only on sports and articles, but for life in general.
