Daniele Geltrudi (born 1954) is an
italian architect. He was born in
Busto
Arsizio and graduated from
Politecnico, in 1978 with a degree in
Architecture. He then studied "Urbanistica Tecnica" at the Faculty
of Engineering in
Milan. His
graduation thesis "Cellula abitabile mobile aggregabile" was
published by
Domus.
In
association with
Carlo Moretti, Geltrudi conceived "L'idea di
città" and the ideal scenarios for
Turin,
Rome,
Berlin and
Milan. These projects were published many
times and exhibited in the
Grande Halle du Parc de la
Villette,
Paris; in
the
Palazzo della Triennale; and in the
Spazio Saporiti, Milan.
Using the
same concept, Geltrudi designed proposals for important
international competitions and the master plan “Città Malpensa”,
Gallarate.
As a stage-designer of
Teatro Sociale in
Busto Arsizio, Geltrudi
designed sets for many productions. (his sets were presented even
by RAI 3), and took part in the events of "11° convegno
internazionale di studi Pirandelliani" and "Manzoni, il suo ed il
nostro tempo".
As a furniture design consultant for Gloria
Artec, Geltrudi created several office furniture collections
published and exhibited in Milan Fair, and was responsible for
several important contracts, such as the Research Centres of
GlaxoSmithKline in the
new
towns of
Stevenage and
Harlow (UK).
