Dark Mirror is an American heavy metal band formed in Cedar Falls, Iowa, in 2005. Their sound is influenced by traditional NWOBHM- thrash and power metal-, as well as 70's hard rock and heavy metal with an added modern touch. Their lyrical themes are drawn from the world around them, personal stories, history, and some songs that are just about having a good time, about topics such as: rock n roll or horror inspired lyrics.

Biography

"The band around vocalist Alonso from Chile take no prisoners and hit our ears heavily with power (Dark Mirror) and speed (Nightmares)." RonJacMetal at metal-rules.de.
Dark Mirror has released two recordings and one full studio effort to worldwide release in 2007. Visions of Pain has received a warm reception around the globe, Dark Mirror are currently promoting the cd, working on a tour, and putting the finishing touches on new material. Dark Mirror has shared the stage with such acts as: Vader,Goatwhore,Daath,Leaves Eyes,Into Eternity,After Forever and 3 Inches of Blood, as well as headlining concerts at Lang Auditorium in Cedar Falls, the Omaha Metalfest 2007, and the 2007 Iowa State Fair. Dark Mirror are currently looking at tour and label options, hoping to spread their heavy metal to more people all around the world. Dark Mirror was formed shortly after Mark Andersen met Alonso Donoso through the student radio station, KULT 94.5lpfm at the University of Northern Iowa. They both played heavy metal over the stations airwaves and when the topic of musicianship came up, Alonso informed Mark he used to perform vocals for an Iron Maiden cover band in his home of Chile(South America), Mark was amazed by his ability and the rest is history. Dark Mirror strives for musicianship and claim to be carrying on ideals set by the most professional of hard rock acts from the 70's and 80's. They believe in true to life recordings, putting out a record that is strong from beginning to end, and in the live show(performance, sound quality, and entertainment). "If you were not able to see any of the NWOBHM bands or bay area thrash bands in their early days, you owe it to yourself to catch a Dark Mirror show!" Randy, of The Metal Show with Randy and Ace on KDPS 88.1fm. Des Moines, Iowa, or streaming anywhere you have internet access.
