Dark Shadows is an upcoming vampire film directed by Tim Burton and starring Johnny Depp. It is the most recent remake of the 1966–71 soap opera Dark Shadows.[1] The film will be released sometime in 2011.[2] The script will be written by John August.

Johnny Depp is a fan of the gothic television series which is a primary source of this film. He was an initiator of the filming[3] and persuaded Burton to direct.[4]
