Darrin Edward McGillis (born December 31, 1966) is an American entertainment executive, music producer and political candidate. He is the CEO for McGillis Records, an independent record label whose biggest artist was former Puerto Rican boy band Menudo. Under his management, they released several English songs including Cosmopolitan Girl and Dancin, Movin, Shakin by Menudo. The label also had released albums for several ex-Menudo members including Angelo Garcia and Ruben Gomez.

In 1986, McGillis began to promote the first of many nationwide concert tours that toured across the United States, including Menudo James Brown, Exposé, The Jets, The Cover Girls, Dr. Dre, and many others[1].
In 1989, McGillis started the McGillis Records Company in New York City, New York. One of the company's first acts was contracting two former Menudo band members, Angelo Garcia and Ruben Gomez. In 1992, he signed Menudo, which at the time was an extremely popular boy band throughout Latin America, and they released the songs "Cosmopolitan Girl" and "Dancin, Movin, Shakin" and a behind-the-scenes video, "The Making of Dancin Movin Shakin". Several, mainly Spanish-language acts appeared on the label including Explosion which was a teen group from Puerto Rico. The label later released a three disc set of all their hits, Triple Threat DVD/CD Combo, which also had hits by freestyle artists Nayobe and The Cover Girls.
In 2008, McGillis entered the political arena by running for a countywide seat as Clerk of the Circuit Court[2] of Miami-Dade, Florida, in the November 2008 general election. Although he received a total of 39,936 votes, McGillis lost the election to incumbent Harvey Ruvin who has been in office for over sixteen years. In September 2008, McGillis filed a lawsuit against the Miami-Dade County Elections Department claiming that he should have been listed first, not last on the ballot.[3]
On November 5, 2009, Darrin McGillis, officially became a Democratic candidate for Governor of the State of Florida. Florida Elections web site. The election for Governor is set for November of 2010.
