Darryl Newton Parker, Jr., was born in Charleston, SC, in September, 1970. He is the first son of Darryl Newton Parker of Concord, NC, and Caroline Irving Seabrook of Charleston, SC.

Parker graduated from high school at Davie County High in Mocksville, NC in 1988. He attended Appalachian State University, McDowell Technical Community College, and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Currently, his objective is a BS in Computer Science from UNCC.

In 2002, Parker and his wife, Kristin (married October 1999), moved back to North Carolina after having lived in Florida since 1999. Their daughter, Olivia, was born in February 2003.

Professional History



Enlisted in the North Carolina Army National Guard in November of 1987. Attended Basic Training in Fort Jackson in June of 1988. In May 1989, Parker attended and was an honor graduate of AIT (Advanced Individual Training) for the MOS 67T10 - Tactical Transport Helicopter Repairer with training located in Ft. Eustis, Virginia. Parker started working full-time for the NCARNG in October of 1989 as a clerk for E-Company, 130th Aviation, in Salisbury, NC. In Feb of 1990, Parker was moved to Raleigh to work under the State Army Aviation Officer as the Assistant to the Anti-Narcotic Task Force Coordinator for the State of North Carolina. In April 1991, Parker left the full-time guard as an E4 - Specialist. In April 1992, he received his honorable discharge.

From 1991 to 1996, Parker worked a variety of management jobs for restaurants and retail locations including Bojangles, Hardees, Wendys, Lowe's Home Centers, and Media Play.

In 1996, Parker returned to school by enrolling at UNCC. From here he developed a sole-proprietor business around marketing and web site design which he would use to support himself during this period.

In 1998, Parker was hired as the Marketing Manager for Slayton Computers, Inc. He was integral in the launch of the cable modem broadband Internet access service by Time Warner by winning the installation contract for Slayton.

In 1999, Parker was a partner and Director of Sales & Marketing with Groupware International in Tampa, Florida. At one point, Groupware International was responsible for 1 in 10 of all cable modems installed in the United States. Parker left the company in June of 2000 and sold his holding in October of 2001.

In 2000, Parker was a partner and Vice President of Sales & Marketing with Conexco Communications, based in Largo, Florida. Initially Conexco focused on cable service installations, but is now more focused on satellite service installations. As of this writing, Parker still maintains ownership in this company.

In 2001, Parker founded Parker Heritage, a genealogy research web site and newsletter for the family "Parker".

In 2003, Parker became a general partner at Clickit Ventures, LLC, and as an owner acts as a business and technology consultant to the company and their flagship service Clickitgolf.com.

In 2004, Parker was the campaign manager for candidate Joseph Stanley, running for United State Congress for Florida's 9th district.

In 2004, Parker renamed Parker Media, Inc., as Parker Web Developers and hired on his first employee. Parker is now the current President of this small business located in Charlotte, NC. Parker Web Developers was named the 16th largest web design firm in the Charlotte area by the June 2005 Charlotte Business Journal Top 25 List.
