Dartmouth Community College

As from September 2007, we are part of the federation with Dartmouth Primary School and Nursery. This means that the two schools share one governing body and will enable us to further develop policies and practice that underpin excellent teaching and learning across the 0 - 19 age range.

As part of the federation, funding from the Department for Schools, Families and Children will improve the facilities of our site and see the construction of our sculpture studio, a new multi-purpose building and the Children’s Centre. All of these facilities will be used by our feeder schools in the Dartmouth Learning Network and the local community.

Arts College

We are establishing a distinctive identity with our Visual Arts College status.

We specialise in:
· Art & Design (including Creative Textiles and Photography)
· Drama

· Media Studies
This enables us to work to our strengths and deliver effective teaching and learning in our areas of expertise, as well as across the curriculum, and to drive innovation.

As part of being a visual arts college, we work with secondary and primary school partners, community groups and businesses.

We have a shared ‘ethos’ across the community; we have an open structure - sharing best practice within and beyond the college, focusing on personalised learning and teaching, and also providing a rich range of extra curricular activities.
