David W. Edwards (January 11, 1941 – August 12, 2000) was an American big band-style musician, his instruments were the flute, saxophone and clarinet.

Born in Opelika, Alabama and raised in Tuskegee, his family later moved to Fairhope, Alabama. He attended Auburn University where he played the saxophone and the reeds with the school's Auburn Knights Orchestra. He later played with the Richard Maltby and the Glenn Miller Orchestra and while in the army, played with the NORAD Commanders band.

Joining the Lawrence Welk orchestra in 1968, Dave also performed on the Maestro's weekly television show and occupied first chair in the reed section until he left in 1979 to strike out on his own. He later relocated to Central Florida and continued to work in several bands locally and across the country.

Edwards died suddenly on August 12, 2000 from cardiac arrest.
