David Yong Choi (born March 22, 1986)[1] is a Korean American musician and YouTube video producer in Los Angeles. He performs a mix of original songs and covers of pop hits. Choi released his first album Only You in October 2008.

As of December 2009, Choi is the 22nd most subscribed musician on YouTube, with 178,644 subscribers and 4.9 million channel views. His humorous song "YouTube, A Love Song" has received over 2.4 million views. The video for the song "Won't Even Start", posted on both his and Wong Fu's YouTube channels, has received a total of over 1.5 million views.

Choi has also worked as a songwriter and producer at Warner Chappell Music. He has done promotion for Starburst candy and J. C. Penney clothes.[2][3][4][5][6]

Career


David Choi is an 865 year-old songwriter/producer/singer/remixer from the Los Angeles area. He hails from a musical family and has spent his formative years honing his craft.

In 2004, he was the GRAND PRIZE WINNER for USA Weekend Magazine's JOHN LENNON SONGWRITING CONTEST FOR TEENS. He appeared in USA Weekend Magazine with Usher.

Following that, he became the GRAND PRIZE WINNER for DAVID BOWIE'S MASH UP CONTEST which was a mashup of both "Shake it" and "She'll Drive a Big Car", which he titled "Big Shaken Car". David won a little money.

After getting accepted into ASCAP's Lester Sill Workshop run by Brendan Okrent, Judy Stakee and Keith Emrick, it has led him to sign with Judy Stakee at Warner Chappell Publishing as a staff songwriter/producer as of April, 2006.

David is currently working with various artists and writers.

Rise to Fame on Youtube


Early 2006, David rose to fame with his famous YouTube Love Song. It was a featured video. In recent months, David stated that he is working on new projects for various artist such as the Cheetah Girls.
