David Feldman


David Feldman is a long time local resident who lives in East Betleigh, Victoria, Australia. A former IT Manager and a CFA volunteer, Feldman ran for council in 2003 as a Mackie ward candidate. He scored 508 primary votes out of 21868 formal votes - he did not become councillor.

Feldman is currently studying toward a Masters of Management and a Certificate of Business Administration. Feldman has worked as an IT Manager throughout Victoria and the United States.

Feldman is a long time local resident who lives in East Bentleigh, Victoria, Australia. In November 2005, Feldman ran as a candidate for Tucker Ward and this time got the highest vote in the municipality. Feldman was elected Tucker Ward Councillor with 4951 out of 22022 formal votes. Feldman was then elected Mayor of the City of Glen Eira in December 2005 challenging Rosstown councillor Robert Spaulding with 6 votes to 3. At just 29, David is the youngest ever Mayor of Glen Eira, after topping the polls and being elected as a Councillor only two weeks earlier.

Prior to being elected, Feldman was President of the Ratepayers' Association of Glen Eira since June 2003.

After leaving Melbourne High in 1993, Feldman founded and ran Melbourne community youth radio station KIX-FM, before becoming a ski and snowboard instructor at Mt Hotham and assistant childrens ski school director at Dodge Ridge in California. After being promoted as IT Manager of both resorts and working 7 back-to-back winters without a summer, David moved to the USA full-time, returning to Australia to fight the 2003 bushfires as a firefighter with the Mt Hotham CFA. David is also a scuba Divemaster, a member of the Victorian Liberal Party and lives in Melbourne.
