Admiral Sir David Williams (born 22 October 1921) was a senior officer in the British Royal Navy.

Naval career

Williams the Chief of Navy Personnel and Second Sea Lord from 1974 to 1977; he was then Commander-in-Chief Naval Home Command from 1977 to 1979.[1]

He was given the honour of being the Flag Officer on HMS Victory from 31 October 1976 to 30 October 1978.[2]

On 26 October 1982 he became the Governor of Gibraltar.[3] He held this position for three years until 19 November 1985.

Currently he is a Vice-President of the Friends of Gibraltar Heritage Society.[4]
