David Lee Zingler (born January 28, 1975) is an American freelance writer based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He currently writes nationally syndicated baseball and WNBA columns for Internet Broadcasting and contributes to Minnesota Public Radio's website. In addition, Zingler publishes Simply Baseball Notebook (sbeen.com), an on-line baseball magazine.

Zingler was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and at age 10 his family re-located to the Twin Cities area where he attended Coon Rapids High School. Following graduation in 1993, Zingler attended Anoka-Ramsey Community College and St. Cloud State University. He graduated from St. Cloud in 1998 with a BA in political science with a minor in speech communication.

He first published Simply Baseball Notebook (sbeen.com), in July 2001. The on-line baseball magazine features player interviews and irreverent analysis. In 2005 he began writing a nationally syndicated baseball column for Internet Broadcasting and covering baseball on MPR's (Minnesota Public Radio) website. In addition, his work has been featured in Minnesota Score magazine and various other Twin Cities-based publications.
