Dawnyell Alexander in the sister of Famed football player Shaun Alexander. Dawnyell was born April 7, 1975 in Cincinnati, Ohio


When you hear this blessed woman of God you know that God has called her to minister praises unto him. She has a style of singing like no other. Dawnyell's genre is Classical Gospel. She mixes her classical training and gospel background together to bless the LORD with her musical instruments. Dawnyell's primary instrument is her voice, her secondary instruments are the flute and the piano.

Dawnyell is admired and supported by many living in the surrounding Cincinnati, Columbus, and Dayton, Ohio area. She has toured Michigan, Cleveland, Washington D.C., and South Carolina with local groups. She has an anointed voice that lifts the people spirits and encourages them to praise the LORD. Dawnyell has been singing ever since she was a young girl. Her first solo, at age 10 was 'Swing Low, Sweet Chariot' and with her powerful voice and operatic style the audience rose to their feet. She grew up in the church, singing in the church choir and on the Praise and Worship Team. Saved at ten years old, she always had a desire to know the LORD more and began to grow closer to the LORD in her teens. Though she continued to sing in local Cincinnati Gospel groups. She knew that the LORD was calling her out on her own.

Dawnyell is working on her first album release entitled “Perfected Praise”. The words to the songs on this CD, speaks to the heart of God.
