Daxflame, aka Bernice Juach III, is the fictional main character of the popular YouTube video blog of the same name; played by inspiring actor Madison Patrello. Similar to the Lonelygirl15 video blog that sparked the genre on YouTube. The video blog chronicles the life of a desperate, socially inept and accident-prone 15-year-old high school student. He is famous for throwing tantrums, leaving some viewers to claim he's autistic. His childish behavior combined with his desperate craving for attention have left him with a modest fanbase and earned him the status of an internet celebrity.

Synopsis

A constant theme of the videos is desperation, as he continually tries to become friends with a classmate, Jacob, and also try to form a relationship with a girl named Sophia. Dax is completely unaware of the fact that both Jacob and Sophia can't stand him and never gives up in his fight for their attention. In each video DaxFlame gives the audience an update on how these relationships are progressing, along with random incidents such as getting stuck in his chair and pretending that an earthquake is occurring.

In recent videos Daxflame started interacting with fellow YouTubers. Most memorable is his platonic love affair with GreenTeaGirlie, which was later the subject of a parody in a skit of LisaNova

Criticism

Many believe that DaxFlame is a real person and his videos are an accurate reflection of his life and behavior, although there is recent evidence that DaxFlame is actually an actor by the name of Madison Patrello. <ref> </ref><ref name = NewsCloud.com> </ref> DaxFlame vehemently denies these accusations and often deletes posts or video responses to his vlog that cast doubt as to his status. Though some loyal fans still debate whether or not Bernice Juach is a real person it is generally accepted within the YouTube community that he is an actor.

Trivia

On March 2007 Daxflame was featured on Attack of the Show! on G4tv.<ref name= G4tv.com> </ref> The hosts of the show Olivia Munn and Kevin Pereira mocked Dax, causing him to respond on his Youtube channel in an emotional outburst.

On June 2007 Daxflame opened a second Youtube channel called BerniceJuachTalk. This is a parody of fellow Youtube celebrity Ysabellabrave who has two channels, separating her music videos from her talking videos, which consist of personal advice for her viewers, in response to those who have written her.

The Daxflame videos are reminiscent, both in style and subject matter, of the BBC comedy television series Marion and Geoff starring Rob Brydon.

In a few episodes Daxflame is seen wearing denim cut-off shorts above his regular clothing. A similar running joke can be seen in the American comedy television series Arrested Development where the character Tobias Fünke (David Cross) has a rare condition called "never-nude" syndrome, based on the real condition of severe gymnophobia.
