Dead Bang is a 1989 action film starring Don Johnson and Tim Reid, and directed by John Frankenheimer. Johnson's character tracks the killer of a Los Angeles homicide cop and uncovers a plot involving hate literature, white supremacist militias and arms trafficking. The cast also includes Penelope Ann Miller, William Forsythe, Bob Balaban, and Michael Jeter and Bob Everett.

The story begins when the police officer is shot down on Christmas Eve. A down-on-his-luck L.A. homicide detective, Jerry Beck (Johnson), is given the job of hunting the killer. As with every case, he takes this one very emotionally, because the job is the last thing left in his life and he wants to get the murderer no matter where or how.

During the investigation Beck learns that this murder of a policeman was just the tip of the iceberg, as he finds the roots of the suspect are in a White Supremacist, Neo-nazi group. This movie is unique because of one scene where a hung over Beck vomits on a suspect forcing him to confess.
