Plot

The movie begins with the shotgun killing of a group of zombies by Travis Dee (Brandon Stacy). Dee dispatches the zombies but is splattered with infected blood in the process. Travis is then arrested and sent to prison, where the infection spreads amongst the inmates. Meanwhile a CDC worker (Bay Bruner), The Warden (Bobby James), and a petty criminal (Griff Furst) battle to stay alive as most of the zombie inmates escape and riot. A team of security guards work together to kill as many of the inmates as they can.

The Warden perishes while trying to protect his visiting son from the horde. Furst, playing an inmate on his first day, teams up with Bay Bruner for the majority of the movie. Furst is infected and sacrifices himself to protect his companion.

Unlike many zombie movies, the characters know of zombie movies. Several compare their situation to movies they have experienced.

The movie ends on a low note, with zombies and snipers killing the last of the survivors.

Location

The film was filmed in an actual prison, the Lincoln Heights Jail in Los Angeles, California, USA.
