Overview

DeckMates are specially designed for the US Navy to replace the current problem of cutting tennis balls open to place over chair casters to protect ship decks and prevent the chairs from rolling around when underway. The unique Navy shipboard design allows replacement of the felt covered bottom piece while keeping the more durable top fitting. The entire product installs on a chair in seconds, and the bottom felt pads can be replaced just as quickly once they become worn out. The product prevents chair slippage and protects the expensive deck finish.

Materials

The top caster assembly has a zinc plated caster stud that will never rust, an integrated bronze receptacle, and is made with high grade impact resistant plastic. You will keep the top part forever and can even transfer it to a new chair. The bottom replaceable piece consists of a plastic base coated with thick felt that is dark black in color. The felt used is secured with a water resistant industrial adhesive and is thicker than the felt layer on a standard tennis ball. This product is virtually indestructible.

Design

The unique interlocking design of the two assemblies allows easy replacement of the bottom felt pad, while maintaining the highest standards of strength and durability. This product was engineered for heavy duty use on Navy ships and is actually stronger than a standard fixed caster. The downward pressure of sitting causes to interlocking pieces to continually tighten, and the zinc plated stud inserts firmly into the base of your chair. This product will not become loose or detach from the chair.
