Dedrick D. Gobert (November 25, 1971 - November 19, 1994) born Dedrick Dwayne Fontenot was an American actor best known for his supporting role as Dooky in the 1991 John Singleton film Boyz N the Hood. Born in Louisiana, Gobert was an up and coming actor, having appeared in Boyz N the Hood, Poetic Justice and Higher Learning in supporting roles.
The pacifier that is constantly seen in Gobert's mouth throughout the movie Boyz N the Hood, was actually a real habit that Gobert had picked up after he quit smoking.
Gobert died on November 19, 1994 after being fatally shot after an argument regarding a drag race. Gobert was 22 at that time and was only six days short of his 23rd birthday.
