DefenceIndia is a website in
India that offers news, views and features on
defence issues.
DefenceIndia, is an online thought provoker. It
was the first website started in India, that offered news, views
and features on defence issues. It has dedicated divisions led by
young, creative and dynamic teams. One of the reasons, DefenceIndia
shot to fame was the two path-breaking nationwide surveys that were
conducted. One, related to conscription, proved that above 87% of
India's population preferred compulsory enrollment in the forces.
The second, related to resettlement of defence officers, proved
that 90% corporates in India favoured ex-defence officers as their
employees.
The current team is led by Aman

DefenceIndia aims to create synergy between
the defence departments in Asia, the Corporate sector and the
general public.
It is visible currently as an online repository
of Defence News, Features and Archives and is currently the most
visited online thought provoker on defence topics. The website

DefenceIndia is at the
forefront of innovations (events, surveys, seminars) and
initiatives that aim to create a broad base of well-wishers for
those working in the Defence Forces.
DefenceIndia assists
Corporate entities in interacting in the most effective, mutually
beneficial and efficient way with the concerned
department.
DefenceIndia conceived and organized an event at
Wagah Border, in 2005, that had our team collect Rakhi's from all
parts of the nation and symbolically tie them to the Jawaans on
either side of the borders.
DefenceIndia was one of the online
sponsors of major International shows, like Fighter Conference in
Singapore, Coastal Surveillance 2005, Dominant Battleship Knowledge
Asia and Littoral Defence 2005. More recently at The Air and Port
Show, HongKong, Asia.
DefenceIndia conducted nationwide surveys
on topics relevant to the Indian Defence Forces.
DefenceIndia
was a part of the Career Fair, organized by The Army Institute of
Law, at Mohali, in 2005.
DefenceIndia strengthened its web
initiatives and major companies like Safran, Mazagaon Dock, Ikan
Relocations, Eisa et al have been the notable advertisers on the
website.
The web initiative has clocked a subscriber base of
10,000 from all across the globe.
Now, new innovations are
shaping the 2006 vision.
DefenceIndia has initiated an HR Cell.
This cell has started works on two fronts.
a,Placement
Assistance: DefenceIndia NOW assists ex-servicemen to find the
right jobs in the private sector, that suits their expertise,
experience and temperament. Like wise, we assist corporates in
scouting/recruiting and nurturing perfect candidates who have had
stints in the defence or allied forces.
b,Corporate Training:
DefenceIndia NOW has a corporate training cell, in which we assist
professionals with innovative training modules, both outbound and
in-house on leadership/team building/personality enhancement/risk
taking et al. We have also started a 'Corporate Acclimatization
Program'.
DefenceIndia has started corporate relationship
initiatives. DefenceIndia aims to reach out to corporate entities
and initiate a dialogue wherein Corporate partnerships can be
cultivated. The seminar, Mastishq 2006, is the maiden effort in
this direction.
DefenceIndia has initiated a Non-Government
Organisation, An NGO, SAMVEDNA, that shall: a. Bring to the fore,
the issues relevant to the defence forces. b. Assist in
rehabilitation of ex-servicemen, non-officers
grade.
DefenceIndia has initiated the restructuring of the
Advisory Board. Many notable senior personnel, who have retired
from service have been sent requests to be our honorary
patrons/advisors.
The web initiative/presence has been
strengthened with a new dynamic and qualified team in place.
The
Innovative Initiatives have been strengthened. a. Our previous
initiative, a nation-wide survey on "Conscription", wherein
citizens across the country were asked if they would prefer
compulsory enrollment in the armed forces, met with widespread
positive encouragement; It was well-received by the press. b. The
new initiative, a nationwide survey on, "Do Ex-servicemen make
better managers" was recently wound up and was spread over 3 months
and qualified HR personnel, serving and ex-servicemen, corporate
chieftains were consulted and compiled.
The DefenceIndia
Excellence Awards, are the latest endeavour to reward ex-defence
officers.
