Del Rivers (aka - James P. Bulmahn), is primarily known for being a novelty recording artist. A "best of" compilation, The Del Rivers Story CD, was released in 2005. He started the radio show "Whole Lotta Shakin'" on WITR-FM in 1984 with Mike Murray (of "Fertility Rite Brothers/Quatloos") and Mick Alber. The show, devoted to obscure 1950's-1980's music, is still on the air in 2006. A biographical piece was printed in City Newspaper, Rochester's largest alternative paper by Thom Metzger (author - "Drowning In Fire"). In the 1990's he was the sound production man for "Gary - The Happy Pirate". He briefly appeared on the controversial television show "Life Without Shame" afterwards. Del was associated with bands like "The Quatloos", "Frat House Cats", and "Riviera Playboys/Projectiles" who backed him as "Del & The Electric Cowboys" on his musical ventures.

Del was also a member of the comedy group "Spilt Milk", (which featured Eric Von Haessler of Atlanta, Georgia's "Regular Guys" morning radio show on WKLS 96 Rock & on WPXY-FM in Rochester). Del was a part of Rochester's first comedy show on cable - "The Humor Room" in 1984. Del, as a lyricist, wrote for "McFadden's Parachute", "Luther & The BBB's", "The Mudflaps", and "The Squires Of The Subterrain". His song "Mr.Know-It-All" features guitarist Bob Janneck from "The Insiders" and "My Little V-6" features guitarist Dan Frank from "The Franks/Projectiles". "Stop Pushin' Me" (in the same vein as "Pushin' Too Hard" by The Seeds) by "McFadden's Parachute" received regional airplay. Del is currently recording a full comedy CD with comedian/d-j Chuck McCoy and working on a cable television show called "Frontal Lobe & Dumplings".

Del Rivers cites late entertainer Bobby Darin, a distant relative, as an influence. Del's sister, Bonnie (Miguel), is a graphics artist & director on several commercials for "Toyota", "McDonalds", and other popular products. Occasionally, Del performs stand-up comedy in Rochester clubs; as he also performed in 1989-90 in Berkeley, California. Del started out by co-writing comedy and managing bands with Jon Pirincci (producer and writer of "Phonees" comedy/drama) and was brought back to performing in recent years with help from comedian Rich Gagnier.

As an interviewer, Del has met & questioned several celebrities. He met and interviewed The Beau Brummels for their 20th Anniversary Show in San Francisco in the 1980's. An extensive interview with Rockabilly star Ronnie Dawson appeared in the minor publication of "Shindig!" magazine (published by James Havalack - former "Chesterfield Kings" manager) in the 1990's. Del has met and interviewed at least five different cast members of Saturday Night Live.

In the comic book world, Del appears as himself (in caricature) in "El Mucho Grande" by Chris Yambar. Del has worked with artist/writer Chris Yambar (upcoming "Scapegoat Hawkins Lee"), inker Ken Wheaton, and artist George Broderick, Jr. ("She Walks Like A Robot" CD cover).

A member of the "Rochester Comedy Hall Of Fame" - 2006 class (through XEI Entertainment).
