Delta Nu Psiis an
inter-
fraternityformed at
Keene State Collegein 1987. Delta Nu
Psi, or locally referred to as DNY, is the only Greek organization
on Keene State campus that has both males and females. They are a
local Greek organization, meaning they only exist at Keene State
College.
Delta Nu Psi is a Greek organization at Keene State
College in
Keene, New Hampshire. They are co-ed,
or rather, and Intra-Fraternity/Sorority.
DNY is a social Greek
organization, not a service Greek organization although do they
participate in community service events.
History
In 1987
DNY was founded at
Keene State Collegeas a local Greek
organization, only existing at KSC. Over the years we have found
that there are very few co-ed Greek organizations out there,
especially social ones, and have yet to find one like us. Most
co-ed Greeks that we have discovered are service organizations or
are for specific majors, but not a social organization like us.
Here's some more facts about us:
On Feburary 28th, 1987 Jay
LaPanne, Amy LaPanne (Carrier) and Karen Schoch present the idea to
the Charter class, then on March 23 submitting the first
constitution and the name "Delta Nu Psi", which means "A Change for
a new system", to the Student Assembly. They were accepted on
October 27, 1987 by the college.
January 24, 1989 - Delta Nu
Psi becomes the first Intra-Fraternity/Sorority with its first
pledge class that semester.
Philanthrophy
Delta Nu Psi's
Philanthrophy is currently the Keene Community Kitchen. Our members
give back to the wonderful Keene Community by lending a helping
hand in the Community Kitchen for only 1-3 hours Friday's and
whenever else Members chose to do additional Community Service work
in the Kitchen. Eventhough Delta Nu Psi isn't a service Greek
organization, we still try to help out in our community.
Additionally being apart of a strong community on campus, we
were proudly all in attendance with other Greeks to join in a
clap-in April 28, 2006 to welcome KSC's new President Helen
Giles-Gee before her inauguration. Also as part of President Helen
Giles-Gee inauguration week we were also proud to join the other
Greeks on campus April 29 in the "Cans Across Keene" drive, as part
of the. This drive took place for two hours and spread all the way
down Main Street in Keene, collecting generous amounts of can goods
to be donated to the Community Kitchen in Keene.
This Fall'06
semester Delta Nu Psi was also once again part of the annual
Ashuelot River clean up, which brings all the Greeks together to
clean in and around the Ashuelot River area of the campus along
with the bike path that runs by campus, plus the Winchester Parking
Lot.
