<p>Denticon, a Planet DDS ([1518])product, is a web-based dental practice management software application. Utilizing Software as a Service (SaaS) delivery, Denticon is accessed over the internet through the user's web browser.</p>

<p>Denticon is the first practice management system that uses the SaaS delivery method. Other applications available are generally offered as more traditional software packages, where the program is purchased upfront and stored locally on the customer's computer or server. In contrast, the Denticon program is not purchased, but rather leased and accessed remotely. Costs are then allocated by the customer paying a monthly subscription fee.</p>

<p>In addition to its fully integrated (and stand-alone) digital imaging program (Dentiray), Denticon also fully integrates with its patient communication application (Dentigram). The major disadvantage of the software is that it is unavailable if an office does not have an internet connection.</p>
