Dhanyakuria (Bengali: ধান্যাকুরিয়া) is a census town under Basirhat police station of Basirhat subdivision,[1] in North 24 Parganas district in the state of West Bengal, India.

As of 2001 India census[2], Dhanyakuria had a population of 4168. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Dhanyakuria has an average literacy rate of 75%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 81% and, female literacy is 68%. In Dhanyakuria, 10% of the population is under 6 years of age.
North 24 Parganas district has been identified as one of the areas where ground water is affected by arsenic contamination. [3]
There are some notable old mansions that belonged to zamindars of yore. They are well maintained and many Bengali movies have also been shot here. Some old mansions are rumored to be haunted. Its very old village by birth. And may be the most prosperous one among surrounding villages. It is told that One family called "Sahu" came there first and established the village. Then they established one school and one health care unit also. This village got his first School only for Girls,established more that 100 years ago. One can imagine the situation 100 year back. If you wish then it is a good week end visit just 50km away from Kolkata. While entering this village first thing you will found a big mansion call "gaine Garden" and as you go you will happen to see "Gaine Family Building" , then "Shau Family Building" and "Bhallav Family Building" and at last you will find a good picnic spot by a small village river. A perfect day outing from kolkata. Note:This village don’t have any hotel or guest house to spent nights. Best time to visit: Between December to Feb during winter.
