Diemertus is a fusion band that combines the artistic styles of Thrash Metal and Death Metal
bringing together all that you love about Thrash, with the Gore of Death Metal. Founded by three members of the band known, whimsically, as "God" a series of changes occurred to the line up and style. After the disbanding of God a new band, dubbed: Wisconsin, came to be. This name served the band through the majority of 2006, and survived the addition of Alex Podoksik, though none of the members fully acknowledged the name as their own, it was appended to any reference to the band. With the addition of Jared Rudolph to the lineup, the band took on yet another face, the face of Demogorgon, a short lived name which was changed again after much protest on the part of bassist Carl Peterson, who felt it too cheesy a name. After many days of disputing and trashing failure names, one name was suggested by Guitarist Alex Podoksik, that name was Diemertus, which suits the band to this day. Under this name the Album Gouge will be released sometime in late 2007-early 2008.
