Digital Samba S.L. is a privately held, Spanish, multinational software company producing online collaboration software and offering digital broadcasting services - Digital Samba products make use of Adobe Flash technology, allowing anyone who has the Flash plugin installed on their Apple Mac, PC, PDA or mobile phone to connect to Digital Samba conferences or video streams.

Digital Samba's flagship product is a web conferencing platform called OnSync.

An online collaboration session using OnSync allows the following modes of interaction:

The recording feature of OnSync allows users to view sessions that they werent able to attend at the time they were presented or to review material at a later stage.

Anyone who is subscribed to the service and has the Flash plugin installed on their computer can invite any other user on the Internet to an online collaboration session, even if the person they are inviting is not subscribed to the Digital Samba OnSync service.

Use Cases

Digital Samba OnSync is used profit and non-profit organisations, Fortune 500 corporations, SME businesses and educational facilities such as Universities, Community Colleges, Virtual Schools and K-12 School districts.

OnSync is used for education, training, online meetings, webinars, presentations, sales and support. Online meetings with 100s of users connecting from different continents are a common use case but also small user groups from 2 or 3 offices are catered for by the OnSync service.

Licensing Models

Services can be contracted via a monthly ASP service, limited only on concurrent user numbers, or via a "behind-the-firewall" Enterprise Server License (ESL) with no limitations beyond server capacity.

Technology Overview

OnSync uses Adobe Flash Media Server for live communication such as audio and video conferencing as well as datasharing via the flash player. OnSync requires at least one Flash Media Server but can be infinitely scaled in capacity using the Flash Media Server Origin/Edge deployment architecture.

The creation of sessions and storing of session data is housed in a PHP/MySQL architecture allowing easy and low cost integration into existing IT systems. LDAP authentication services and LMS integration can be provided on demand.
