The God Dinlas appears in Greek mythology. Dinlas was guradian of the ancient city Lamark where wounded heroes could find comfort, after being injured in battle. Dinlas is Son of Aphrodite, one of her many illegitimate children.

History

Aphrodite rejected her Son, and banished him to live a life in pain and agony. Therefore she threw him to Hades, God of the underworld. Hades found Dinlas, lying naked, torn and twisted, on his cold ebony floor. There Hades saw great anger in this little boy, and decided to raise him as his own son.
As Dinlas grew, his anger rose and Hades realized he had to send him to the mortal world. Here he was to guard the city of Lamark.

The fall of Lamark

Time went, and many warriors travled to Lamark to heal their wounds. The city swarmed with the best nurces, some were taught the divine art of healing by Asclepius himself. But soon Ares became aware of this city, and cast his wrath upon Dinlas and the city of Lamark as he did not want warriors to retreat from battle. Besides Asclepius' healing skills and his ability to awake the dead, was already frowned upon. Ares could now kill two birds with one stone. Therefore Ares persuaded Dinlas to crush Lamark, as he was promised golden lands, and all Ares' spoils of war. Dinlas was easily tempted, and took Ares' offer, as it was a great one indeed. Dinlas' job was now to destroy the city of Lamark, and he had a great way to do this. He travlled to the underworld, and went to the entrance of Hades' hall. There Cerberus, the 3-headed beast, stood, guarding the entrance. At his stay in the underworld, Dinlas had become quite fond of this creature. Cerberus respected Dinlas for this. Dinlas now released Cerberus and asked him to follow him to Lamark, and destroy this once so great city. Cerberus wanted to help Dinlas, and went with him to Lamark. Upon arrival Dinlas commanded Cerberus to kill everybody, and lie the city in ruins. Dinlas would kill Asclepius himself, as a request by Ares. Fear, terror and agony ruled the lands of Lamark, and soon every soul in the city had been sent to Hades. Dinlas' deed was now done.

In addition the surname "Dingler" is quite common in Germany, and is belived extracted from the name Dinlas.

The Dinlas Prime

Dinlas has later on in history laid name to a specific prime number. this number was the first 45-digit prime calculated by IBM's supercomputer Deep Blue. The prime number is:

518852518181816181151818181151126292262948187

The people at IBM gave this prime number the name Dinlas, after the Greek God, but really the reason for doing this, was because one of the Deep Blue develepors was named Bernhard Dingler. He was the first to look at this prime, and therefore they took the surname Dingler, and found whatever was closest to a God from any mythology. Here Dinlas from Greek Mythology came up, and the prime had finally been given a name, which everybody could relate to.
In addition some believe that IBM gave the prime the name for another reason. They believe that IBM was not so certain that their Deep Blue supercomputer had calculated the prime correctly, and had therefore given it the name Dinlas, because the number, as well as Dinlas himself was rejected by Aphrodite (IBM). Therefore people meant that IBM also had rejected this very first 45-digit prime, but was too afraid to say so, as it would make Deep Blue appear unreliable. IBM has never made any remarks on whether this is true or not.
