Dinosaur Bar-B-Que is a restaurant, blues venue, and biker bar in Syracuse, New York. Opened in 1988 on Willow Street, in downtown Syracuse, it specializes in authentic barbecue, using a wood-fueled barbecue pit. The restaurant markets its sauce, pulled pork, chili, and baked beans at local supermarkets, and at Wegmans, Fairway, D'Agostino's, Price Chopper, and Shaw's Supermarkets across the Northeast. Two additional locations have also been opened in Rochester, New York in 1998 and Harlem, New York City in 2004.[1] In 2009, it was announced that plans for a 4th restaurant would open, with the location to be Troy, New York adjacent to the Hudson River. The deal for the property closed late August 2009. [2] The anticipated opening is sometime in spring 2010[3][4]
In 2001, a cookbook with many of the restaurants recipes was published titled "Dinosaur Bar-B-Que: An American Roadhouse[5]

In late November 2006, its Syracuse location was affected by the Norovirus and was closed for about a week until cleared to reopen by county health inspectors. Hundreds of customers and employees were affected. It is unclear how the virus materialized. Onondaga County health inspectors have not found fault on the part of the restaurant. In fact, they have applauded the restaurant for its complicity and resolve.[6]
In May 2009 Dinosaur Bar-B-Que was voted America's best barbecue in ABC's "Good Morning America" poll. Dinosaur Bar B Que was selected as winner of Good Morning America's Best Barbecue in the country, beating out entrants from across the United States.
