The Directors Forum is the signature program of
the Art Museum Partnership. The three-day conference is held each
October at various cultural institutions in New York City. The goal
of this annual conference is to engage museum leaders throughout
the United
States in an exchange of views on issues of mutual
concern.
The Art Museum Partnership, based in
New York
City, is a nonprofit organization that provides
the leaders of nonprofit art museums and gallaries with networking
opportunities that facilitate the sharing of information,
resources, and collections nationwide. The Partnership was
primarily established to benefit the directors of small to
medium-sized museums that comprise the largest segment in the
field. However, the leaders of large museums are also encouraged to
participate, since the challenges in the field are universal and
all members can benefit from the knowledge of their peers. It is
the only dedicated professional organization that is open to the
leaders of all not-for-profit art institutions regardless of size
or focus.
