  • History

Forming in 2004, DSR has played all over North Carolina, but mostly in Charlotte at their second home, The Milestone. The lineup of the band has changed a lot since 2004, namely revolving bassists, and in 2006 with Adam trying to move from drums to guitar. DSR started as a mixed up set of dead bands. Early on, Denied and DSR would share instruments and members, making a spontaneous Denied happen at most DSR shows.

In the later half of 2005, Brendon from Denied joined DSR as the third vocalist. Denied later changed their name to Hematidrosis in 2006. With DSR getting signed to Tent City Records, and having to tour and record their debut full length, and Brendon leaving the "crew", Hematidrosis was forced to breakup. The Dirty South Revolutionaries are part of the Dirty South Crew (DSC), and are sponsored by Dead Bodies Don't Drown (Clothing company from Charlotte NC) and Subculture City (Tattoo shop located in Concord NC).

On April 1st 2006, DSR was on the bill for the Milestone Benefit show at Amo's, to raise money to help the Milestone get new equipment. Other acts to play the show were The Emotron, Morbid Toothbrush, and Steve Mackat and the Radon Ensemble. The event was presented by Queen City Independence, and all venues closed their doors that night to push people to this show.

July 12th 2006, during a week of shows in the Charlotte area, with everyone worrying about Moss' mother who had quickly contracted cancer, Dirty South Revolutionaries played an emotional, Moss-less show. Hours before the show, Moss got a phonecall from the hospital, and spent the last remaining time with his mother before she died. Pete did the vocals solo, and asked everyone to help, inturn Taddeo (Jim's brother) filled in for some vocals, while a more chaotic gang vocal of the last two songs occured.

The Dirty South Revolutionaries have gotten air play on several underground punkrock radio stations, such as Rock Hell Radio in Rock Hill, South Carolina and Hussieskunk in Columbus, Ohio.
