Diva is an
open-source
video editing software for the
GNOME desktop
environment. Founded by Michal Dominik K. as a Google Summer of
Code project. Currently under heavy development, it will provide
users with tools for manipulating
digital video. Diva is written in
Mono and uses
GStreamer, and currently runs on
GNU/Linux.
Features
Diva can currently
import several media formats, permits playback, basic editing and
effects. It supports undo, exporting, and saving of
projects.
Unlike other well-established Open-Source video
editing software which support
DV
clips like
Kino and
Cinelerra, Diva provides an integrated media
gallery for Video clips, Pictures, and audio files in which media
are categorized by type, duration, tags and timeline usage
.
Many more advanced features will be added to Diva during
development including support of many more effects, output formats,
etc.
Remarkable is the infinite undo/redo functionality with
which you can open a history window with clear descriptions of
which these changes and where you can jump directly to the project
status at this point and the undo/redo stack can be saved with the
project.
Supported import file types:
DV files (raw digital video, .dv) WAV files (raw riff .wav files. Limited to 16bit,
any rate) JPEG,
