Do Anything Nice, often referred to simply as D.A.N., is a non-profit organization dedicated to random acts of kindness. Founded in 2006, Do Anything Nice (D.A.N.) has become a part of life for hundreds of students in various states within the US, and has begun to spread across international boarders.

The D.A.N. Movement

We have all bared witness to a world where honesty, respect, ethics, and most of all kindness have been pushed from a place of importance. Over time a society has evolved that may have forgotten from time to time the importance of uplifting one another and taking the time to truly listen or understand the meaning of each other’s voice. Very often we look at each other and wonder "what is this world coming to?” without mention of a plan to make for a better tomorrow. This state of consciousness can be changed.

Over the past two years I have dedicated much of my life to the creation of a not-for-profit organization called Do Anything Nice (D.A.N.). This is an opportunity for social progress through acts of kindness. The mission is simple - share kindness, no matter how small the act may seem, it truly can make all the difference in a persons life. Hold a door, smile a little more, laugh, donate, share, and love.

The journey of Do Anything Nice began with the courage of six high school students who formed the first ever D.A.N. Club at their educational institution. From there the movement known as D.A.N. Global was born and it spread to institutions of higher learning; the first being, Ithaca College. Under a year it crossed international boarders, reaching into the heart of Florence, Italy and striking interest in students from France, England, and Thailand. Business owners have also been invited to join the D.A.N. movement! Businesses can register for fun and exciting ideas for kindness in the work place.

I would like this page to remain active and not be deleted because I truly believe in the mission D.A.N., and I know that with a "little" bit of kindness a brighter tomorrow can be built. I wish for everyone to have an opportunity to explore the possibilities of random acts of kindness. As a college student leading this movement I realize the most important part are the people, and so I hope Wikipedia will serve as a place to learn more, get involved, and change the world together.

D.A.N. Global

The movement known as D.A.N. Global has begun to spread from school to school. With this program students have the opportunity to be the change they wish to see in the world and to share kindness as a way of life.

The objective is to create and sustain a stimulating, fun, and safe environment for students and faculty of educational institutions. To provide students with the opportunity to actualize their potential as members of society along side a strong program support network. D.A.N seeks to interconnect students, faculty, and members of the broader community by fostering and acknowledging ‘nice deeds’ or more generally, community involvement. The objective is to provide a unique opportunity for students to form social networks and initiate sustainable community projects based on the guidelines set forth by various chapters of D.A.N. These programs develop goal-oriented members, while expanding their capacities to perform within and outside the classroom.
