Dorel Industries Inc. (TSXDII and NASDAQDIIB) is a Montreal, Quebec-based company which designs and manufactures for three areas: juvenile, home furnishings and recreational/leisure. Dorel employs approximately 4,800 people. It was formed in 1987 as a result of a merger between Dorel Co. Ltd., founded in 1962 and Ridgewood Industries, founded in 1969.

In 2004, the company purchased Pacific Cycle, a major U.S. distributor of bicycles built in Taiwan and the People's Republic of China.

Dorel sells products under many other brand names besides its own. A short list of the more notable includes Ameriwood, Cosco, Bebe Confort, Safety 1st, GT, Huffy, Murray, Schwinn, SUGOI, Babidéal, Baby Relax, MaxiCosi, Quinny and Mongoose. [1]

In February 2008, Dorel announced their acquisition of Cannondale Bicycle Corporation [2].
