Douglas Seann "Doug" Robb (born January 2, 1975, in Agoura Hills, California), is an American musician and lead singer of rock band Hoobastank. He is a graduate of Agoura High School.

Musical career

Robb began playing Bass guitar at the age of 13, encountering fellow Hoobastank member Dan Estrin later in his teenage years at a high school Battle of the Bands competition in Agoura Hills where his band covered an Alice In Chains song. He has co-written all of the songs on three of the band's four major commercial releases, the self-titled album Hoobastank, The Reason, and Every Man For Himself, including the band's singles.

In a 2004 interview with Yahoo! Music, Robb spoke about the musical style of he and the band:

"It's more positive. It's not all positive, but... none of us were beaten by our parents, fortunately, and we don't have too many gripes. So I'm not complaining too much in our songs. It's mostly more of everyday-type stuff, know, the questions that you and me ask in everyday life. I think that I was fortunate enough to have a strong family and live in a good neighborhood, a family-oriented neighborhood, so I don't have to sing about how rough it was... I don't think we're doing something that hasn't been done before. But I think it's not very trendy. I think it's just rock music with good songs and lyrics, lyrics that people can relate to, grab onto; it's just stuff that I've been through just being a normal guy."

Robb is one of the characters in the book Sex Tips from Rock Stars by Paul Miles to be published by Omnibus Press in July 2010.[1].

Personal life

Robb is married to Christiana Lund, a singer in the pop band Shorty 101.

He is of Japanese descent, from his mother and Scottish descent, from his father.

His brother David Robb is chief designer at BMW Motorcycles in Munich, Germany.
