Dwayne L. Taylor is a Florida writer and Democratic politician who serves as the District 27 member of the Florida House of Representatives, first elected in November 2008. He has two children, Dwayne, Jr. and D'Ambra, and one grandchild, Rayvin.
Rep. Taylor was born on November 13, 1967 in Daytona Beach, Florida. He received associate degrees from Daytona State College. He received a Bachelor of Science degree and an M.P.A. from of University of Central Florida. From 2003 to 2008, he served on the City Commission of Daytona Beach. He served two terms as Vice Mayor, in 2005 and 2007. In 2008, he ran against Maureen Monahan of Holly Hill, Florida for the District 27 seat. He was endorsed by the firefighters, the state chamber of commerce and Police benevolent Association.[1]
