Newsham Park, Liverpool

Edward Kemp (1817–1891) was an English garden designer and author.

Kemp trained under Joseph Paxton at Chatsworth. He worked with Paxton on the design of Birkenhead Park, later becoming superintendent of the park.[1] He went on to design gardens, parks and cemeteries mainly in Liverpool and the surrounding area. He was one of the judges in the Central Park Competition of 1858. His writings include How to lay out a Small Garden (1850) and The Parks and Gardens of London (1850).[1]
