Eileen O'Brien is an English actress who currently appears in ITV soap opera Emmerdale as teacher Bridget Burgess. During the 1980s O'Brien had a recurring role in the BBC soap opera, EastEnders. She played Edie Smith, the mother of Linda Davidson's character, Mary, from 1987-1988.

She has also appeared in Casualty, Doctors, The Royal, Where the Heart Is, Brookside, Heartbeat and Coronation Street to name a few of many.

In May 2009, she played Anne in BBC One miniseries Moving On.
